Bus Driver
Be the face of CDC Canberra, as you drive urban, school or charter services for your local community. With three depots across the Greater Canberra region, we have full-time, part-time, and casual opportunities available. To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service, be reliable and available to work a variety of shifts and have an uncompromising approach towards safety.
Ideally, you will hold an MR (or equivalent) licence and the ability to obtain a Driver’s Accreditation and a valid Blue Card before commencing work. While a track record as a capable, qualified driver is always an advantage, we have in-house staff to train new drivers and welcome those who are enthusiastic about joining the industry. Better still, you’ll earn while you learn in our paid training programs.
Maintenance / Mechanic
With a modern fleet of more than 145 vehicles, our maintenance teams work together to ensure our buses and coaches are ready for their daily commute. Our depots have their own workshops, with positions available for qualified diesel mechanics, spray painters, body builders, upholsterers, and auto-electricians, as well as opportunities for trades assistants. To succeed in these roles, you will have the relevant trade qualifications and safety at front of mind, with experience working with heavy vehicles, and an MR licence (or equivalent), highly desirable. CDC Canberra also supports the next generation of maintenance staff through apprenticeships.
Operations
Our operations teams are responsible for the delivery of our services. A precision team, they’re the ones behind the scenes, coordinating our buses and drivers to ensure services are reliable and punctual.
Operational roles include:
- Depot managers
- Operations managers and supervisors
- Schedulers
- Driver trainers
- Charter operations
Customer Service / Administration
Our depots operate public transport, school, and charter services. They are supported by dedicated frontline charter and customer service representatives and administration coordinators who help the public with queries, assist with lost property, administer school bus passes, and co-ordinate charter bookings.
