Community Partners

CDC Canberra is proud to partner with like-minded organisations to give back to the communities we serve.

As a provider of essential transport services, CDC Canberra is privileged to play a role in keeping our communities connected for work, rest, and play.

We are passionate about our relationships and understand the importance of strong, vibrant communities. Each year, we engage in a variety of partnerships that focus on making a difference. We support these partners through collaborations and awareness campaigns as well as financial assistance for projects that promote diversity and social inclusion, youth empowerment and leadership, wellbeing, security, and sustainability.

Sleepbus

sleepbus.org.au provides a safe, temporary overnight accommodation service in buses that have been refurbished to sleep the homeless. They aim to get people off the street by offering an immediate, first stop, cost-effective solution for our society’s most vulnerable; catching them early until they can get back on their feet.

CDC Canberra has an ongoing relationship that drives this major initiative, which is growing across Australia. Our Queanbeyan depot proudly sleeps the two blue sleepbuses when not on the road, assisting with amenities, cleaning, fuel, and repairs while the buses rest and recharge, ready for their next night on the town.

Canberra Special Children’s Christmas Party

CDC Canberra is an annual supporter of the Canberra Special Children’s Christmas Party. The party, an initiative of Make a Wish Australia and Mix 106.3, aims to assist in raising funds to provide children with a disability, suffering ill health, violence or who are underprivileged with the Christmas party.

Rise Above Cancer Convoy

This convoy is an annual event which raises awareness and funds for the Rise Above Capital Region Cancer Relief charity. CDC Canberra has long been one of its supporters, providing vehicles to participate and drivers volunteer to take part.

Queanbeyan Whites Football Club

CDC Canberra has been a long-term sponsor of the Queanbeyan Whites Football Club, supporting local sporting for children and the greater community, and raising community engagement and special charter trips for the club. Go Whites!

National Road Safety Week

Promoting safe bus travel is important to us. We are among those urging the community to “drive so others survive”, as part of Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council’s road safety events. Staff members also attend these events to promote the community safety messages.

Santa Driving

Kids in Care ACT

Each December, our CDC staff who deliver Canberra’s Special Needs Transport dig deep to personally gather presents for Kids in Care ACT.  You can imagine the joy when Santa rocks up driving the CDC Special Needs minibus kitted with sparkly decorations and laden with sacks of toys and gifts for the kids. What a wonderful ACT of kindness team!
